Final Reflections

Course Reflection AE 481W / 482
The Pennsylvania State University AE Senior Thesis project gave students a chance to independently solve issues on real world projects.  This taught students valuable skills such as being able to communicate with industry professionals, how to go about solving problems with little information, and how to manage time and schedule what needs to be done in the future.  This comprehensive project was both difficult and rewarding.  AE 481W / 482 helped prepare students better for the real world and instilled confidence in being able to get things done on their own.
CPEP Reflection
The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a great way to publish the thesis projects online.  This gives students the advantage of seeing how other students have done their projects in the past and seeing the updates on their peers projects.  Furthermore, since this website is public it forces students to create a high quality project.  Lastly, it gives students the chance to add creativity to their project and have a taste of website design.
ABET Assessment
The following survey was completed in accordance with the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).  This survey consists of ranking levels of how this Senior Thesis project educated students on certain outcomes.  Please see this survey located here.
